Course Description: Third course in a series to improve academic confidence through mastering critical thinking, writing, and reading skills in order to prepare for completion of HS21+ or GED and/or transition to college coursework. May be contextualized within social science, humanities, or science content areas or topics.
Prerequisite: None. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Display writing competencies appropriate for transition into HS21+, I-BEST or college coursework.
- Apply reading strategies and routines to understand and analyze a variety of texts.
- Improved academic confidence through development of critical thinking; communication skills; self-knowledge; and ability to set goals and priorities.
- Use technology to research information, format documents, and present ideas.
- Perform math operations and solve problems using algebra, geometry and statistics to reach a level of competency needed for transition to WMATH100, MATH 97 or the equivalent.
