Course Description: Students work towards knowledge and competencies required to pass GED exams in Social Studies and Language Arts. Instruction offered in Spanish.
Prerequisite: Basic computer and typing skills OR CCB 024 or CCBS 024 with a C or better. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze and interpret charts, maps, and graphs to identify relevant information for supporting claims.
- Identify causal relationships versus correlation or sequential order of events in a text.
- Apply reading strategies to understand, analyze, summarize, and compare arguments, passages, and texts.
- Apply writing skills to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning, relevant and sufficient evidence.
- Apply test-taking skills to successfully pass GED tests.
