Course Description: Students work towards knowledge and competencies required to pass GED exams in Social Studies and Language Arts. Instruction offered in Spanish.

Prerequisite: Basic computer and typing skills OR CCB 024 or CCBS 024 with a C or better.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Analyze and interpret charts, maps, and graphs to identify relevant information for supporting claims.
  2. Identify causal relationships versus correlation or sequential order of events in a text.
  3. Apply reading strategies to understand, analyze, summarize, and compare arguments, passages, and texts.
  4. Apply writing skills to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning, relevant and sufficient evidence.
  5. Apply test-taking skills to successfully pass GED tests.
