Course Description: Practical experience in the role of a pharmacy technician in a community setting to integrate knowledge and enhance skills.
Prerequisite: AHE 134 and 135 with a C grade; concurrent enrollment in AHE 137 and 138. Strongly Recommended: Special Requirements:

Student Learning Outcomes
- Describe the role of the pharmacy technician in the community pharmacy setting, specific to the assigned experiential practice site.
- Apply skills and competencies learned in the classroom setting to function effectively in the workplace, as evaluated by preceptor and course instructor.
- Display role-appropriate professional behavior in the experiential practice site, as evaluated by preceptor and course instructor.
Course Contents
- Orientation to practice site.
- Definition of role, responsibilities and duties.
- Observation of pharmacist/pharmacist tech. functions at practice site.
- Performance of assigned tasks under observation of supervising pharmacist.
- Documentation of performance of all required elements delineated in course list of tasks essential to demonstrate competencies.
