Course Description: Introduction to the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software for home and office. Provides an understanding of spreadsheet software and a spreadsheet as a productive and useful tool.
Prerequisite: Strongly Recommended: Computer literacy and file management skills. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Create worksheets and charts that effectively organize, analyze, evaluate, and display numeric data.
- Use different methods to write formulas and functions, including absolute and mixed cell references, named ranges, and apply appropriate formats.
- Use Excel’s mathematical, logical, and financial functions to present data according to precise specifications.
- Analyze numeric data using data tables and amortization schedules.
- Work with multiple worksheets and workbooks to demonstrate 3-D data entry and formulas, and consolidation.
- Use database tools that include auto and advanced filtering and subtotals, and lookup functions to display data that meet certain criteria.
