DSL 104 - Diesel Drivetrains III Credits: 13 Variable Credit Course: No

Course Description: Continuation of DSL 103. Theory and repair of manual transmissions, drive axles, differentials, and drivelines. Introduction to automatic transmissions and their electronic control systems, and auto-shift manual transmissions. Theory and service diagnostics of ABS brakes. Theory and servicing of vehicle air-conditioning systems. Preventative maintenance summary. Develop skills regarding teamwork and customer service with a diverse and multicultural population.
Prerequisite: DSL 103 and WMATH 100 with a D or higher or concurrent enrollment. General Education Requirements: - Fulfills Integrate General Education Requirement

- Correctly install and adjust a Power Take Off (PTO) assembly.
- Understand and service manual transmissions and drive axles.

- Operate A/C equipment safely and troubleshoot A/C system using gauge set.
- Recover, recycle, and recharge refrigerant.
