Course Description: Focuses on math and science learning for children aged birth to 8 years. Explores the process of planning, selecting and preparing materials and experiences for young children. Student will work or volunteer 2 hours a week in an early learning classroom.
Prerequisite: EDUC& 115 with a D or higher. Meets FQE Requirement: No Elective Requirements: Fulfills Gray Area Electives Integrative Experience Requirement: No

- Explain the development of mathematical thinking in children aged birth to 8 years.
- Explain the development of scientific thinking in children aged birth to 8 years.
- Use teaching strategies to support exploration of materials, space, quantities, and physical relationships.

- Create science and math curriculum that is based on observation of a child’s interests.
