Course Description: Natural history, biology, taxonomy, evolution, and identification of common invertebrate animals. Curate a natural history collection.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Explain how evolution has led to a vast diversity of related organisms.
  2. Describe evolutionary relationships among and the adaptations that separate taxonomic groups of invertebrate animals.
  3. Identify common Pacific Northwest invertebrate taxa and the various levels of taxonomic organization to which they belong.
  4. Apply scientific processes, techniques, and thinking to understanding the natural world.
