Course Description: A continuation of MUSC& 141, but including a systematic study of chords and harmony. Continued development of aural skills through an emphasis on sight singing and dictation. Continued development of piano skills. Required for Music Majors.
Prerequisite: MUSC& 141 with a C or higher. Distribution Requirements: - Humanities Distribution Requirement

Student Learning Outcomes
- Write all major and minor scales, primary chords in all positions, write longer and more graceful melodies in several harmonized parts. Analyze harmonically and formally, vocal and piano music.
- Hear melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic elements of music accurately at an intermediate level. Sol feggio applications to basic melodies and songs. Commit to notation musical dictation at an intermediate level.
- Increase proficiency in piano skills.
