PE 106 - Intermediate Swimming

Course Description: Special emphasis on four basic strokes as to form and endurance in performance. For those students who swim in poor form, 20 yards (one length).

Prerequisite: PE 105 with a D or higher.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Improve basic strokes
  2. Build up endurance in performance
  3. Present fundamental springboard dives
  4. Identify basic strokes used in various swimming styles
  5. Experience swimming styles in a diverse class population

Course Contents
  1. Review: Breast stroke; Elementary back stroke; Side stroke.
  2. Back crawl.
  3. Butterfly.
  4. Elementary dives. Plain front dive. Racing dive. Back dive.
