Course Description: A continuous cardiovascular program that incorporates basic and intermediate kicks and punches of kickboxing. This class will include shadow boxing and partner drills with some contact using pads. Some basic self-defense maneuvers will also be taught.
Prerequisite: None. Meets FQE Requirement: No PE Requirement: Activity PE Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify and perform the basic kicks and punches associated with kickboxing
- Perform boxing movements using safe form
- Describe and identify cardiovascular exertion ratios relative to his/her age and weight
- Identify cultural influences of kickboxing and origins
- Demonstrate appropriate physical stances with accuracy
- Perform movements at a higher level of exertion than the start of the class
