SOSC 113 - Job Search Credits: (1) Course Description: Through lecture, small group discussion, and homework assignments, students will develop skills in job search techniques such as identifying common job information sources, conducting effective interviews for information and for hire, completing applications and developing resumes. Students will learn that job search is really an information search and involves the use of investigation, strategizing, and problem-solving skills. Due to the requirements and intended benefits of this course, it is strongly recommended that it be taken toward the end of one’s certificate or degree program. Consult with your program advisor if your circumstances warrant taking it early in your training.
