Course Description: Introduction to oxy-fuel cutting and welding. Welding of structural steel plate in the flat position with emphasis on shop safety. Also covers air-carbon arc gouging.

- Identify hazards associated with oxy-fuel processes and equipment.
- Describe oxy-fuel operating principles.
- Safely setup and operate oxy-fuel equipment.
- Use the oxy-fuel process to weld steel.
- Use the oxy-fuel process to cut carbon steel plate to a given specification.
- Safely setup and operate air-carbon arc gouging equipment.
- Effectively remove weld metal using air-carbon arc gouging.
