Course Description: This course explores the historical and cultural context of current world problems.
Prerequisite: HSC 018 or ELA 018 with a C or higher (or concurrent enrollment). Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate how individuals and movements have shaped contemporary world issues.
- Analyze how cultural identity can promote unity and division.
- Evaluate ways of influencing national governments and international organizations to establish or preserve individual rights and/or promote the common good.
- Explain how the geography of globalization affects local diversity.
- Evaluate how human interaction with the environment has affected economic growth and sustainability.
- Evaluate the ethics of current and future uses of technology based on how technology has shaped the world we live in.
