Course Description: Practice and preparation to apply skills and acquired knowledge for taking the national CPC exam from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

Prerequisite: AHE 221 and AHE 222 with a C or higher. Concurrent enrollment in AHE 230 required.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Demonstrate coding ability by assigning CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes.
  2. Demonstrate coding ability by completing assigned practice exercises.
  3. Identify the structure, function, terminology, pathophysiology, and abbreviations for body systems.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of medical reimbursement issues.
