Course Description: Code immersive real redacted medical records using the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) Practicode web-based practicum. Students successfully completing Practicode Practicum are eligible to remove the “-A” apprentice from their CPC-A credential.
Prerequisite: AHE 230 and AHE 240 with a C or higher. Strongly Recommended: Special Requirements:

Student Learning Outcomes
- Perform in real-world experience in coding multiple medical specialties that can be applied to a new job.
- Demonstrate proficiency in properly assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes for reports in an electronic virtual practicum based on code set guidelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in assigning modifiers to CPT and HCPCS codes for reports in an electronic virtual practicum.
Course Contents
- Complete online orientation and course objectives.
- Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to multi-specialty medical records.
- Total of 600 medical records; rationales provided.
- Take CPC national exam.
