Course Description: Emphasis is on taking periapical, horizontal, and vertical bitewings, occlusal and panoramic radiographs, digital photographs, mouthguard fabrication and manipulation of dental materials in pre-prepped teeth. Develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by fabricating mouth guards, and manipulation of dental materials in pre-prepped teeth.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dental Therapy (DT) coursework from previous quarter. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Take periapical, horizontal and vertical bitewings, occlusal, and panoramic radiographs on adult and pediatric manikins.
- Explain the principles for taking intraoral and extraoral photographs.
- Take intraoral and extraoral photographs.
- Perform dental examination on children, teens, adults, and elders.
