Course Description: Simulation lab course where manikins and typodonts are used. Emphasis on practicing preparation and restoration of permanent teeth using amalgam and esthetic adhesive restorative materials. Learn how to accurately critique restorative skills through self-assessment of restorations.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dental Therapy (DT) coursework from previous quarter. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Use ergonomic principles when practicing in the dental therapy preclinic lab.
- Restore anatomical integrity for non-carious cervical lesions, Class I, II, III, and V caries.
- Self-assess the quality of amalgam and composite restorations on typodonts using the preclinical operative rubric.
