Course Description: Orientation to the Swinomish Dental Clinic to become members of the health care team. Transition from working on manikins in simulation lab to providing dental treatment to patients.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dental Therapy (DT) coursework from previous quarter. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Explain responsibilities of a dental therapy student working at the Swinomish Dental Clinic.
- Interact professionally with Swinomish Dental Clinic administrative and clinical staff, and patients.
- Sustain safe dental environment by applying infection control practices.
- Collect data from dental examination to diagnosis and plan treatment.
- Take extra-oral and intra-oral photographs.
- Enter patient data into electronic dental record (EDR) system.
