Course Description: Practical applications of epidemiology, public health, and cultural competency principles learned in previous courses. Apply components of POARE and SMARTER objectives to implement and evaluate culturally appropriate community oral health promotion projects.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Dental Therapy (DT) coursework from previous quarter. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No

- Discuss the elements of POARE included a culturally appropriate oral health promotion project.
- Explain skills needed to successfully communicate and work in diverse settings and cultures.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders through cultural humility to implement an oral health promotion project.
- Apply the components of SMARTER objectives as they relate to an Indigenous culture.
- Collect data from community oral health promotion project.
- Analyze verified data to develop project report.
- Create graphics to display data in project report.
- Present progress on oral health promotion project to community stakeholders.
