Course Description: Explore and implement several iterations of the product design to confirm functionality, customer satisfaction, and manufacturability. Start with feasibility studies; then, move to visual and functional prototypes. The culminating project runs the alpha prototype through the Product Validation process.
Prerequisite: BASPD Director permission. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
Student Learning Outcomes
- Produce physical models for analysis using appropriate modeling tools.
- Interpret CAD data through finite element analysis.
- Determine validity of a design concept as it relates to product design and market needs.
- PROGRAM OUTCOME: Implement various strategies for concept testing of a new product prototype in an industrial environment.
