Course Description: First in a series of three courses in which students improve critical thinking, reading, writing, oral communication, and math skills to prepare for entry into high school completion and/or transition to college or employment.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Improve writing competencies appropriate for transition into HS21+, I-BEST or college coursework.
  2. Apply reading strategies and routines to understand and analyze a variety of texts.
  3. Improved academic confidence through development of critical thinking; communication skills; self-knowledge; and ability to set goals and priorities.
  4. Use technology to communicate, research information, format documents, and present ideas.
  5. Perform math operations and solve problems using algebra, geometry and statistics toward reaching the level of competency needed for transition to WMATH100, MATH 97 or the equivalent.
