Course Description: A comprehensive course designed for future educators who are committed to providing inclusive and equitable mathematics education to students with diverse learning needs. Designed to give participants an understanding of how children progress in their mathematical thinking and learning, and how to facilitate high quality learning experiences through focusing on early numeracy content with research-based methods. Teaching Math in Early Childhood equips educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to support every student’s mathematical growth while fostering a classroom environment that values diversity and inquiry-based learning.

Create a differentiated set of assessments that is aligned with a math learning standard.
Create a culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate unit plan aligned with learning standards that considers individual learners’ strengths, interests, and needs.
