Course Description: The focus of the seminar will be professional communication. Students will engage with their peers towards preparing for a range of communication scenarios in the field.
Prerequisite: ECED 409 and ECED 497 with a C or higher. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No

- Describe paraeducator standards of practice.
- Describe steps for referring students for academic or behavioral support.
- Use feedback and data to continue progress on their professional growth plan aligned with their needs and priorities.
- Create a communication tool to be used for collaboration with paraeducators working in the classroom.
- Use technological tools and communication strategies to create local learning communities involving learners, families, and colleagues.
- Use communication skills to collaborate with school counselors, social workers, and psychologists to support children experiencing trauma, including abuse and neglect.
