Course Description: Explores the fundamentals of materials technology for product development, including how the structure and properties of materials influence the selection of primary materials. Apply the acquired materials knowledge to the current design project.

Prerequisite: Admission to BAS-AMD program and BAS-AMD Director permission.

  1. Compare and contrast the properties of natural and engineered materials used in contemporary industry.
  2. Conduct common destructive and nondestructive testing methods used in industry to assure appropriate use of material.
