Course Description: This class will help Early Childhood Education students to meet communication standards in their classrooms. Throughout the class, students will learn skills, tools, and strategies for facilitation and mediation to help students to modulate their communicative behaviors to serve in various roles, including communication in the classroom, with parents, among colleagues, and during family visits. By the end of the course, students will have an understanding of intercultural communication, power dynamics in education, and essential listening skills for equitable interaction.
Prerequisite: BASECE Dept. Chair permission. Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No
