Course Description: ESOL Level 2-1 (Beginning ELA) students improve English listening, speaking, reading, and writing and comprehension with a goal to develop college and career readiness skills. Prepares students for transition to ESOL 22.
Prerequisite: Receive a P grade in ESOL 13 or ELA 11 (or placement into ESOL 21 or equivalent). Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No

- Recognize Wh- and Yes/No question forms.
- Recognize subject and verb agreement.
- Recall common adjectives.
- Recognize voiced/unvoiced, vowel, consonant, and digraph sounds.
- Identify the Present Simple tense.
- Identify the Future Simple tense.
- Identify count and non-count nouns, including quantifiers.
- Brainstorm career and/or educational goals.
