Course Description: ESOL Level 3-2 (Low Intermediate ELA) students improve English listening, speaking, reading, and writing and comprehension with a goal to develop college and career readiness skills. Prepares students for transition to ESOL 33.
Prerequisite: Receive a P grade in ESOL 31 (or placement into ESOL 32 or equivalent). Meets FQE Requirement: No Integrative Experience Requirement: No

- Use given Wh- questions to clarify understanding or extract information from text.
- Identify the functions of parts of sentences.
- Use frequently occurring linking words to connect sentences.
- Distinguish between different letter sounds and pronunciation of various letter combinations by identifying them in words.
- Use the Past Simple and Past Progressive/Continuous tenses.
- Use common modal verbs to express possibility, ability, permission, or necessity.
- Use possessive nouns, possessive pronouns, and possessive adjectives.
- Extract information from bills, receipts, checks, paystubs, charts, or graphs.
