Course Description: This course explores the historical and cultural context of current world problems.

Prerequisite: HSC 018 or ELA 018 with a C or higher (or concurrent enrollment).

  1. Evaluate how individuals and movements have shaped contemporary world issues.
  2. Evaluate relationships between key ideals and historical and current realities.
  3. Examine systems that have disadvantaged marginalized or traditionally underserved populations.
  4. Use credible, relevant resources to explore the origin and context of current world issues.

Course Contents
  1. Topics include, but are not limited to current global issues and their cultural, political, and/or geographic antecedents and effects.
