Course Description: Explores the intersection of manufacturing technology, professional communication, and workforce norms within historical and cultural contexts. Students will learn communication skills that emphasize public speaking skills, multimodal communication options, and audience analysis that will prepare them to clearly articulate technical information, communicate about usability and sustainability of manufacturing technology, connect manufacturing advancements to their impacts on industry and society.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Analyze public and professional communication around historical and contemporary manufacturing technologies, emphasizing their societal impacts and human-centered considerations.
- Identify the explicit, implied, and implicated audiences for speeches about the Capstone Project and select presentation strategies and skills to tailor presentations to the needs of these audiences.
- Select appropriate and effective persuasive theories and models to clearly, effectively, and ethically communicate about Capstone Project plans, progress, and completion.
- Identify and summarize information that is relevant to the purposes and goals of presentations to communicate the usability, sustainability, and impacts of the manufacturing processes, documents, and technologies used in the Capstone Project.
