Course Description: An introductory course designed to develop observational and technical drawing skills. This course will emphasize visual communication through studio work, discussion and analysis.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Utilize critical thinking skills to problem solve during the drawing process.

- Effectively communicate ideas through the creation of unique drawn images.
Course Contents
- Using presentations, electronic media, gallery/museum visits, and/or texts, students will examine the ways artists have combined observational and technical skills to communicate through drawing,
- Students will analyze drawings (theirs and the work of others) through self-assessment, group critique, group projects, and/or exams.
- Students will apply observational and technical drawing skills to problem solve and create visual images.
- Students will create unique images that effectively communicate ideas.
