Course Description: An intermediate studio course in which students develop drawing skills with an emphasis on composition and technique. This course will emphasize visual communication through studio work, discussion and analysis.

Prerequisite: ART 101 with a D or higher.

Course Contents

Using presentations, electronic media, gallery/museum visits, and/or texts, students will examine the ways artists have combined compositional and technical skills to communicate through drawing,
Students will analyze drawings (theirs and the work of others) through self-assessment, group critique, group projects, and/or exams.
Students will apply compositional principals and technical drawing skills to problem solve and create visual images.
Students will create unique images that effectively communicate ideas.
