Course Description: An introduction to observing and drawing the human form. This course will emphasize visual communication through studio work, discussion and analysis. Note: Students will be drawing from the nude model in class.

Prerequisite: Grade of 2.0 or higher in ENGL 097, or EAP 098, or appropriate test score.

Course Contents

Using presentations, electronic media, gallery/museum visits, and/or texts, students will examine the ways artists have communicated through representational drawings of the human form.
Students will analyze figural drawings (theirs and the work of others) through self-assessment, group critique, group projects, and/or exams.
Students will observe the human figure to create visual images.
Students will create unique art objects that effectively communicate ideas.
