Course Description: Practical application of education coursework in the K-3 classroom setting. Attend a weekly seminar and work with children in a public or private school setting under the direct supervision of a certified/licensed staff member or teacher. Experiences will include supporting and assisting in instructional and other services to children, youth and their families.
Prerequisite: Department Chair permission.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Implement educational plans designed for specific children, including children with special needs and dual language learners.
- Use developmentally appropriate teaching/learning approaches that are individualized to the learner’s interests and abilities.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in own teaching practice by viewing and discussing a video-recording of one’s
- Implement educational plans under the direction of a certified teacher for children’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical, language and motor experiences in the classroom.
- Demonstrate professionalism and adherence to school legal requirements in interactions with children, school staff and families.
- Develop culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate classroom management skills.
- PROGRAM OUTCOME: Use effective teaching strategies that adapt and change to meet student’s needs.
