NURS 292 - Entry Nursing Practice/Practicum (clinical)

1. Examine current challenges in the healthcare workplace-including workforce shortages, financing, policy, and safety- and the effects on nursing practice.
2. Develop skills for entering professional practice, including resume writing, interview preparation, and setting career goals.
3. Analyze safety issues affecting both nurses and patients.
4. Evaluate system-based solutions to reduce risk and improve care quality.
5. Describe how nurses apply leadership and collaboration skills in clinical settings to improve patient care and team outcomes.
6. Demonstrate safe, team-based care in the clinical environment by applying principles of delegation, prioritization, and accountability.
7. Utilize tools that support evidence-based, relationship-centered communication across interdisciplinary teams. Example: SBAR, report hand-off form.
8. Describe how professional interdisciplinary health care organizations influence clinical practice- considering ethical standards and professional accountability for the entry-level registered nurse.
