BRW 130 - Business of Craft Brew Credits: (4) Overview of small business start-ups and basic business practices as applied in the brewing industry as well as an introduction to brewery compliance. Topics include the economics of running a brewery, overhead control & pricing, cash management, the selling and distribution process, inventory control, marketing the business, insurance considerations, and hiring/managing employees, licensing and permits, label approval process, taxes, recordkeeping and reporting requirements for the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board (WSLCB), the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB), and the Washington State Department of Revenue (DOR).
Prerequisite: BRW 110 with a D or higher
