ENGR& 215 - Dynamics Credits: (5) Natural Sciences Non-deformable, rigid body mechanics applied to structures that are accelerating. Expands on ENGR& 214 by introducing linear and angular velocity and acceleration of structural components as vectors. Geometric aspects of two- and three-dimensional motion for particles and structures treated using kinematics. Forces that cause this motion treated using kinetics and three different relationships: Newton’s Second Law of Motion; Work/Energy; and Impulse/Momentum. Emphasis given to practical applications and how the subject applies in industry.
Prerequisite: ENGR& 214 with a grade of C or higher.
